Sometimes I need to be punched in the gut with a round of antioxidants. I’ve been on a binge of eating crappy foods that are high in sugar and other refined nastiness, and I need to feel better. STAT. This is what I make when I’m looking to sip on something as a sort of detox for my evil ways (sorry, body, I love you still….). The blueberries combined with the green tea make it full of good-for-you awesomeness, and the flax seeds are a lovely extra boost of healthy goodness. Similar to my Glowing Skin Smoothie, this would be great for breakfast with a hard boiled egg or some other type of protein.
- 1.5 – 2 cups frozen blueberries
- 1.5 – 2 cups green tea (I make mine right when I wake up, then let it cool)
- 1-2 tbsp. ground flax seed
- 1/2 banana
- 1-2 tbsp. hemp seeds
Blend that sucker and enjoy it’s very subtle, refreshing flavour. Also, because there’s a ton of blueberry in this – don’t forget to check your teeth for skins after you’re done (unless you’re going for that ‘teeth are missing’ look).
