A Brisk Jaunt…

forest-walk-1The other weekend, Joe and I wandered through a nearby provincial park that had been closed down for the winter season. There was something eerie about the empty campsites lining the leaf-covered dirt roads; but I was also struck by the serene beauty of it all. After finding inspiration in the gorgeous view that Joe captured above, we happened upon the cawing of what seemed to be several hundred crows, hidden high in the trees. Having begun to feel the cold (and having recently watched Hitchcock’s The Birds), we retreated to the car, driving away to get ourselves some hot chocolate, yet still thinking of the eerie atmosphere we left behind.
