Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Pumpkin Pie SmoothieAlright, I jealously guarded this recipe for a while, because I’m selfish and it’s so damn good I wanted to keep it all to myself. But, since I’m in the spirit of giving (perhaps I’ve already caught a Christmas mood), I’m going to let you all know this. I’ve tweaked it and worked around until it’s just perfect. Feel free to change it, but I guarantee you’ll be hard pressed to find a recipe as perfect as this. I mean, what is really better than pumpkin pie in a glass?

Oh, also, as is [usually] the case with my stuff, it is healthy. And vegan!

You will need:

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup pureed pumpkin (I just use the canned stuff)
  • 1 cup almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk….any ol’ milk
  • 1/2 tbsp – 1 tbsp maple syrup (depends on how sweet you like it!)
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice (mixture of cinnamon and nutmeg with a dash of cloves will do in a pinch)
  • 1 tbsp nut butter

Blend it! If you want a thicker consistency, you’re welcome to freeze the banana in chunks beforehand, or add ice cubes. I like my smoothies on the thinner side, so feel free to thicken that baby up!

      • Severely restricted in sugar, ie, no fruits. 😦 I do obviously cheat sometimes. I may save this one for a treat. 😀

        What!? Oh man. I gotta be honest, I might die with a restriction such as that. Although my skin would probably thank me…

      • I’m struggling myself. And my skin is NOT thanking me, so there’s that incentive out the window… 😉
